Our goals for this year's campaign are to:

• Raise $250,000 for critical programs and services
• Obtain 4,500 donated hours of PTO for the Close Enough to Care program
• Increase overall employee participation to 30 percent 

Remember, 100 percent of your gift goes directly to programs and services for patients and families!

How philanthropy makes a difference at Spectrum Health

The 2009 Staff Campaign raised $218,346 to support programs and services, as well as 3,976 PTO hours to help co-workers through the Close Enough to Care Program.

The following are just a few examples of how philanthropy makes a difference at Spectrum Health:

• Free mammograms for 1,825 low-income, uninsured women through Betty Ford Breast Care Services in 2009
• "Home away from home" accommodations at Renucci Hospitality House for more than 300 families each month
• Support for 42 co-workers experiencing a financial hardship resulting from an unexpected and uncontrollable life event through the Close Enough to Care Program.
• Start-up funds for programs such as pediatric nephrology, pediatric sedation, and palliative care services
• The purchase of new life-saving technology including the da Vinci robot for surgery and Giraffe OmniBeds® for neonatal patients.
• Professional development scholarships for an average of 240 clinical staff each year
